When the U.S. is attacked by it’s own Senate

Eighteen Republicans joined all 48 Democrats and two independents in passing the Omnibus Spending bill, the final vote was 68-29.

The outrageousness of what these 18 members of the Senate just did evokes such anger that if I were to say what I would like to I have no doubt that I’d have the Secret Service at my door within a day. These Republican Senators just negated the Election that took place. It removes all power from the incoming House of Representatives. A House that only by a hairs breath is going to be in Republican Control, their own Party’s control and they purposefully sabotaged it.

Now I could go on and on about all the things in this Bill that are wrong.

Bloomberg Government reported that there are 3,123 earmarks totaling $7,780,973,000 from the Senate in the 2023 appropriations bills and 4,386 earmarks totaling $8,231,999,565 from the House:

An earmark is a bribe, it is funding a member of congress demands for their vote for the Bill. They are vanity projects, or money for payback to groups and individuals that funded their campaign. When an earmark is not specifically a bribe it is a spending of taxpayer money no matter the cost on something that just sounds “worthwhile” to some member. After all it’s not their money they’re spending.

The Senate included 3,123 earmarks totaling $7,780,973,000 in its fiscal 2023 appropriations bills released in July, according to a Bloomberg Government analysis of nine documents published by the Senate Appropriations Committee. On the House side, lawmakers included 4,386 earmarks totaling $8,231,999,565 according to an analysis earlier this year. A central Excel doc with the House earmarks is available here. Combined, the two chambers have published 7,509 earmarks totaling $16,012,972,565.

The earmarked funding total is slightly less than 1% of the roughly $1.7 trillion government funding package lawmakers hope to finish this year. Members agreed to apply a 1% limit to the new earmarking process when they brought it back ahead of fiscal 2022, after a decade-long ban on the process.

I sadly have to say that as offensive as that is, it is Standard Operating Procedure. The United States hasn’t passed an honest budget since 1994. The last 7 years have been Continuing Resolutions. What a CR does is just leaves in place a previous budget and adds more spending to it with no accountability. All this however is just Sausage making.

The real offense that has occurred is by passing this Omnibus Bill ahead of the next Congress they have taken every piece of Leverage that the New Congress has to do their investigations. The have made them a Lion with no teeth or claws.

The House can Subpoena anyone, but they can not compel them to appear. Only the Dept. of Justice can serve the Warrant through the FBI. Now considering that the Number 1 Investigation that the House is going to undertake is going to be THE FBI you might just start to see the problem.

The way the House would normally Compel any member of any Government Department is through “The Power of the Purse”. If an agency refuses to comply with House requests for Documents, refuse to Testify before the Committees that Subpoena them the House’s only leverage is that Departments Funding.

These 18 Senators removed that ability from the incoming House. They cut their own party off at the knees. The actions of these Senators makes it next to impossible for the New House to investigate The FBI, or any part of the Biden Administration. The House can issue subpoena after subpoena for people and documents, but not one department has to comply. They can just simply refuse or even better slow walk it, and give them nothing but redacted information there is no mechanism the House can use against them because these 18 Senators made sure they already have their money plus bonuses.

Even with all the shenanigans that the FBI has been engaged in these 18 gave them all a raise and a new $400 Million Office building. There is simply no penalty the House can use other than shame, and these people have proven they have no shame.

In my view the reason they did this was specifically to prevent the House from getting to the bottom of the Illegality the FBI has been engaged on behalf of not just the Democrats, but all of the elected officials. What people tend to forget is that both Mitt Romney, and Nancy Pelosi’s sons worked side by side with Hunter Biden in his overseas “Business”.

How many other members families are involved not just with Hunter but in a 1000 other things that have yet to be exposed. All the insider Trading etc. That is why these 18 voted to sabotage their own party. 95% of members of Congress enter Congress in debt. There are the exceptions, the Forbes, Rockefellers and others that have entered Congress rich, but they all leave worth millions on a salary less than $200 grand.

The graft, bribery and corruption can only be dealt with by Term Limits, and Term Limits can only happen via an Article 5 Convention. The chance of an A5 anytime soon is slim to none on a good day. The only thing we could have hoped for with this new Republican controlled House is a dismantling of the FBI being used as a Political Weapon.

These 18 Senators just guaranteed that task will now be next to impossible.
