The NHS is never to blame for its incompetence!

I am stating the obvious here and yes it’s been like this for decades now – the NHS is incompetent beyond words BUT it cannot be blamed for this incompetence and it must be further eulogised and fund. Or at least that’s what the politicians line up to tell us. But it is all wrong.

Just look at how NHS Trust after NHS Trust blow their budgets and then BOAST about it and put the begging bowl out for “emergency funds”! Most Financial Directors in the private sector would be sacked forthwith if they performed that disastrously but instead these NHS FD’s get rewarded for their absolute failure. The average NHS Trust Finance Director gets £70K–£100K per year, which includes base salary and additional pay. Some get paid more than that however. It was reported in 2022 that more than 150 NHS staff earn more than £150k per annum. These vast sums might even be understandable IF the NHS trusts performed really well but that is simply not the case.

Just take one random instance from the media yesterday.

The NHS is a killing machine way beyond the point of reform. It was created as a political weapon by Labour back in 1948 but that has now gone on steroids. It often appears to exist for the primary benefit of the people who work within it. Do remember that around 1.5million people “work” within these giant organisation, making it one of the largest employers in the world. That number will continue to grow, the costs of running this third rate service will spiral ever upwards, patients will continue to get ever-decreasing outcomes, and around and around it goes.

We need to get rid of it.
