Did you see the strange story concerning Elon Musk, Mars and Wernher von Braun?

Let’s start with asking who Wernher von Braun actually was!

Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun (What a name, top marks in Scrabble) was a German-American aerospace engineer and space architect. He was a member of the Nazi Party and Allgemeine SS, the leading figure in the development of rocket technology in Nazi Germany, and later a pioneer of rocket and space technology in the United States.

Yes, our Werner was central to NASA! People forget that leading Nazis played a crucial role in the Apollo programme.

In 1953, he published a book called “Project Mars” and in that book there is THIS mention;

Get that, “Elon” leads the Martian Government!

This apparent coincidence was highlighted when Musk expressed disbelief upon learning this, leading to online speculation about whether this indicates a simulation or Musk’s predestined role in Mars colonisation. Von Braun, known for his contributions to rocket science and his involvement in Operation Paperclip, envisioned a Martian society with a leader named ‘Elon,’ fueling discussions on the accuracy of his foresight and the implications for Musk’s ambitions with SpaceX.

Is it just a coincidence though? I mean, what are the chances of Von Braun accidentally picking the name “Elon”? Up until hearing of Musk I have never even heard the name “Elon”!

It reminds me of the strange Baron Trump children’s novels written in 1889 and 1893 by the American author and lawyer Ingersoll Lockwood.

In the first novel, Baron Trump’s Marvelous Underground Journey, follows the adventures of a young aristocrat named Baron Trump. Living in a castle named “Castle Trump,” the character is described as intelligent, curious, and somewhat arrogant. Guided by his mentor, Don, Baron embarks on fantastical journeys, including one to discover a magical portal in Russia.

These might all be freakish coincidences. But might they be something else?
