As you know, Scotland brought in a new “Hate Crime Public Order Act” on 1st April which essentially added a new set of those with “protected characteristics” to the existing protected characteristic of race. “Trans” was one element within this new grievance spectrum and anyone perceived to be “spreading hate” (aka making legitimate criticism) towards any of this group could expect a visit from Police Scotland!
Gender critical Billionaire author JK Rowling was straight in there, exposing the utter insanity of pretending that biological men are women and daring Police Scotland to arrest her. I feel this was a heroic and essential move that only she could make. They instantly backed off, making it clear that there would be no action taken against her. This has been hailed in some quarters as a win – but there was never any chance that they would go after this high profile target to establish their law.
