In a move that reeks of utter capitulation to Brussels, Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour government is reportedly drafting a declaration with the European Union to champion “free and open trade” as a counter to Donald Trump’s tariff-heavy policies. This is the UK and EU plotting against the US as the essence of the EU is trade protectionism!!
According to renowned rag Politico, this agreement, prepped for a May 19 summit, aims to reset post-Brexit UK-EU relations with lofty promises of global economic stability, multilateralism, and support for Ukraine and Gaza. But for those who cherish British sovereignty, this is nothing short of a betrayal—a dangerous step toward re-entangling the UK in the EU’s bureaucratic web, undermining the hard-won freedoms of Brexit.
Starmer’s pivot to Brussels exposes his desperation to curry favour with his fellow Eurocrats while neglecting Britain’s domestic priorities. The declaration’s emphasis on aligning with EU regulations, including commitments to the Paris Climate Agreement, threatens to shackle British businesses with costly green policies that prioritise globalist agendas over economic growth.
These measures risk strangling small business already grappling with inflation and energy costs, all while Starmer panders to an EU obsessed with its own climate dogma. Far from securing Britain’s interests, this so-called “strategic partnership” looks like a surrender to continental overreach, dragging the UK back into the orbit of an organisation it voted to escape.
Worse still, the declaration’s vague pledges—covering everything from Ukraine aid to Gaza reconstruction—hint at Brussels’ intent to pull Britain into its foreign policy quagmires. Why should British taxpayers foot the bill for the EU’s pet projects while our own infrastructure crumbles? Starmer’s willingness to commit to such open-ended obligations shows a reckless contempt for the electorate, who rejected the EU’s meddling in 2016. This summit is less about trade and more about signaling a return to the pre-Brexit status quo, where Britain’s voice was drowned out by Eurocratic elites.
Starmer’s diplomatic failures compound the insult. His inability thus far to secure a meaningful trade deal with the United States leaves the UK vulnerable to punishing levies that could devastate exporters. Rather than forging bold, independent trade paths, Starmer clings to the EU’s coattails, sacrificing Britain’s global leverage for a seat at Brussels’ table.
This declaration isn’t a triumph of diplomacy—it’s a miserable capitulation that erodes Brexit’s promise of independence, chaining Britain to an EU that prioritises its own survival over our prosperity. The British people deserve better than this globalist sellout.
Starmer is the guy who infamously once observed he was more comfortable in Davos than Westminster. His obvious determination to shackle the United Kingdom to the dying and corrupt European Union it’s just an extension of this mindset.
