Is Reform deformed?

The Reform Party has announced its selected candidate, Sarah Poshin, for the upcoming Runcorn and Helsby by-election.

This is occurring because the constituency’s former Member of Parliament Mike Amesbury, resigned on March 17, 2025. His resignation followed a series of events that began when he was filmed assaulting a constituent in the early hours of October 26, 2024, in Frodsham. It’s never a great idea for an MP to assault members of the general public!!

This incident led to his suspension from the Labour Party and a subsequent investigation. On February 24, 2025, Amesbury was sentenced to ten weeks in prison after pleading guilty to assault, though this was reduced to a suspended sentence on appeal three days later. More Two Tier justice!

Facing significant pressure, he stepped down as MP, triggering the need for a by-election to replace him. Worth pointing out that the constituency of Runcorn and Helsby, newly established for the 2024 general election, had elected Amesbury with a substantial majority of nearly 15,000 votes in July 2024.

Clearly Reform see an opportunity to get themselves another MP, HOWEVER we have a problem.

When she was a Conservative Mayor, Sarah Poching endorsed immigration.

Refugees welcome!

Some people say that was just a one off. So how can they explain this?

That’s her top right, advocating for Drag Queen story hour!

The FACT of the matter is that the Farage/Yusuf leadership have selected a very WOKE ex Conservative and are now trying to pass her off a hard nosed zero migration act. This should concern everyone, was there NO ONE better?

She also seems a bit mercurial. She was a Conservative (pre-2015–Mar 2020, rejoined mid-2022–Oct 2022), then an Independent (Mar 2020–pre-Oct 2022, Oct 2022–now), then an Ind. Group (post-2020–Oct 2022) and now Reform.

So what is going to happen?

In last years general election, Runcorn and Helsby was a newly created constituency, and Mike Amesbury (Labour) won it with 22,358 votes, securing 52.9% of the vote share and a majority of 14,696. Reform UK came second with 7,662 votes (18.1%), followed by the Conservatives with 6,756 votes (16.0%). So you can see why Reform fancy their chances but this is a very milquetoast candidate and it will be interesting to see how this one works itself out.

Pochin has been busy deleting her social media history lest we discover more evidence of just how woke she really is!
