I am sure many will be familiar with the basic details of the murder of Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a very prominent civil rights leader, who was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. At 6:01 p.m., while standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel, he was struck by a single bullet from a .30-06 Remington rifle fired by James Earl Ray, a fugitive with a criminal history. The shot hit King’s jaw and neck, severing his spinal cord. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. at age 39. His death sparked riots nationwide and intensified the civil rights struggle, cementing his legacy as a martyr for equality.
But there was a very strange and disturbing twist to this story and to understand that we need to go from 1968 to 1999. Follow me down the rabbit hole….
