You know it, I know it, we all know it. The British political establishment NEVER wanted Brexit and have done everything possible to delay and dilute it. Under a Conservative Government they had to *pretend* to deliver some sort of half-baked Brexit, but now we have the Starmer-bot in Downing Street, there is no need for any such pretence.
Closer relations between the UK and the European Union (EU) will boost economic growth, Chancellor Rachel Reeves will tell finance leaders on Monday. In the first address by a British chancellor to the Eurogroup since Brexit, Reeves will say that a “reset” in relations would mean “breaking down barriers to trade” as well as helping “businesses sell in each other’s markets”. While Labour has ruled out re-joining the trade bloc, it has repeatedly said it wants the UK to “deepen ties” with the EU.
Notice all the weasel words. “Reset”, “Deepen ties” .. it is all so obvious, isn’t it? And naturally, the compliant UK media choose to ask no awkward questions and blindly follow her narrative. But perhaps we, in the independent media, can point out a few very inconvenient truths?
