One of the most revolting aspects of politicians is how easily they abandon once firmly held positions and then pretend that they never REALLY believed in those things Such is the case with many Labour MPs in the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision that confirms that legally, sex is determined at birth and is immutable.
Put another way, trans women are not women and cannot be women.
Yesterday, UK PM Sir Keir Starmer finally came out and confirmed that he agreed with this Supreme Court decision. Please note that he makes it clear that it took the Supreme Court to help him come to this conclusion. Apparently he wasn’t sure up until that point. I pity his wife.
Yet all around him, on the Labour benches, sit loads of MPs who have all passionately and publicly INSISTED that “tranwomen are women”!
In 2020, Dawn Butler, then a very prominent Labour figure, supported the inclusion of trans women on all-women shortlists, stating in an interview with the House magazine:
“I think if a trans woman wanted to be included in an all-women shortlist then that should be considered. I just don’t think people really need to make a big fuss about it.”
Then there was Sarah Owen, the Labour MP for Luton North: In November 2020, during Transgender Awareness Week, Sarah Owen tweeted:
“Trans rights are human rights. Trans men are men. Trans women are women.”
Consider Kate Osborne, the Labour MP for Jarrow & Gateshead East. In 2021, she commented:
“Yes, some women have a penis,”
…in response to debates about transgender rights, indicating her belief that trans women are women.
She’s not the only Labour who thinks that women can have a penis
Consider Stella Creasey, Labour MP for Walthamstow, who stated in a 2022 Telegraph interview that;
“some women were born with penises”
and that
“a trans woman is an adult human female,
Yes, really!
Then there is Lisa Nandy, the current Labour Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. During a 2020 Labour leadership hustings, Nandy stated that
“trans women are women”
Zarah Sultana, the Labour MP for Coventry South is another one of this vociferous group. She has been s been noted for supporting gender self-identification and tweeted her support for a manifesto that included the statement
“trans women are women”
in 2020.
Let’s not forget Sadiq Khan, the Labour, the Mayor of London. In 2020, Sadiq Khan tweeted:
“Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Non-binary people are non-binary. All gender identities are valid.”
This list goes on and on and even includes Angela Rayner, the Deputy Labour Leader. Rayner has expressed support for trans women in Labour Party roles, notably backing transgender activist Lily Madigan’s political ambitions. In 2018, Rayner said she was keeping “the green bench warm” for Madigan, who she believed would be a “great Labour MP,” and endorsed the view that “trans women are women” as Labour’s position.
All these hypocrites who happily betrayed real women stand exposed as shallow virtue signalling hypocrites. They are confounded by the Supreme Court decision.
