I thought this meme hit the nail on the head! We live in a world in which there has been a spiritual battle ongoing since the beginning of time and the older I get the more deeply I appreciate this. Caught up in the daily political banter, it can sometimes be hard to fully appreciate that we are all minions in this battle but that each of us has the chance of salvation and eternal life if we accept Christ as our saviour. Hopefully you do because just as he is real, so are the demons, the fallen angels, that have been prowling this Earth since the Fall and they are just as dangerous to us as any of the more obvious physical threats that we face.
But what do Demons look like? In the popular imagination they are fiery horned creatures with piercing incandescent eyes. However it seems to me that these Demons must possess human bodies and in the act pass themselves off a harmless respectable people. I bet they get a kick out of that. When I see a Bill Gates, a George Soros, a Tony Blair, I think I am seeing a demon. It’s just they are in human form but the clue is they pursue an anti-human agenda. The evil is incarnate.
If we look in the Book of Matthew Chapter 8 Verse 28-34 we read,,,
“And when He came to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men confronted Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way. And they cried out, saying, “What business do You have with us, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?” Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding at a distance from them. And the demons begged Him, saying, “If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of pigs.” And He said to them, “Go!” And they came out and went into the pigs; and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters”
So the Demons travelled out of the two humans and into the pigs. The pigs then met a watery fate but I believe the Demons survived, just in an incorporeal form, until the next host is possessed.
Satan and his demons now look to destroy the work of God and deceive anyone they can so we must be permanently on guard to ensure that we are not fooled by them.
