Do Demons exist?

It has been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Do they also belie demons in human form, do demons even exist?

I suppose it all depends on what you choose to believe.

In Christianity, demons are real. They’re fallen angels who rebelled with Satan against God, as per texts like Revelation 12:9. The Bible paints them as active troublemakers—think possession (like the Gerasene demoniac in Mark 5, where Jesus casts out a “legion” into pigs) or temptation (Satan bugging Jesus in the desert). The Catholic Church still trains exorcists, and cases like the 1949 St. Louis exorcism (inspiration for The Exorcist) keep that belief alive. Protestants may vary—some see demons as literal, others as metaphors for sin or evil. Evangelicals often lean heavily into spiritual warfare, blaming demons for everything from depression to bad luck.

I often think that the most likely place to spot demons is in the Pulpit. Here is one such example. This United Church of Christ Minister Pat Langlois says she doesn’t know if Jesus rose from the dead, and also that it doesn’t matter if he didn’t. How can one explain this other than demonic possession – rebellion against God in the Pulpit?

In case you think that is a one off, try this one.

Now you can choose to believe that these are just hyper woke individuals that have somehow, inexplicably, manage to inveigle themselves into important positions within the Church. But I see it differently. I see it in Biblical terms and I believe that these people are possessed by demons and that they come amongst us to show their rebellion against God.
