When I first cautiously entered the world of Substack last year, I didn’t really understand what I was doing, truth be told. My attitude has always been one of jump in first and then see what happens, perhaps not the wisest (!) but it is simply my way.
Today, I publish my 1000th article! It’s been a blast for me and there are a number of reasons why I love it here.

The Substack community is just so nice. The people that I have met here are outstanding, positive and engaged. I may have more followers on other platforms but the people on this one are just the best. So I wanted to thank you all for taking the time to be part of my community here.

I love to write and have done so all my life. It’s so easy to just sit down and write an article which might please you, may enrage you, and above all, could make you think it’s interesting. I am naturally prolific so MOST days, you all get several articles from me. Those who are paid subscribers get the full works but I try to make sure that everyone gets good value. I would be lovely if a few of my unpaid subscribers could make the jump and become paid supporters. It is only £5 a month and you can expect around 100 articles/videos each month!

The ease and plainness of the Substack ecosystem is fantastic. I like the fact I can work on a new article and it saves itself so I can then come back to where I left off and is waiting for me! I only recently discovered “Notes” and am now having fun there. Again, the audience is so supportive and it’s so different to the likes of X/Twitter.

My writing style is diverse! I will cover anything that catches my attention, that’s why there are frequent posts. The world interests me and I am drawn to all sorts! I really hope my community here likes my eclectic tastes!
So with 1000 posts under my belt, and approaching 1000 subscribers, I look forward to the next 1000! If you enjoy my work, please recommend others to join us and we can put the world to rights whilst having a bit of fun!
