….unless it is with passion!
I am a highly driven person and what I publish here on Substack is driven entirely by my passion on whatever the given topic is. I care about what I say and whilst I know I can get things wrong, my aim is to true. I think if you throw yourself into the argument, it can also make for a better read! I don’t really go with the “let’s look at all sides” style of writing. I prefer to study the issue, get some data, then come to my own conclusions! This is not an opinion neutral zone!
I’ve been like this for many years and I am quite prepared to stand alone even if everyone disagrees with me! The Covid years taught me the absolute importance of standing strong even as the world lost its mind and declared any opponents of the official dogma were “anti science bigots’! It’s not that I don’t like popular approval but it is a by product. The argument is all that matters!
I have been writing for many decades in different forums. I LOVE it if I can come up with a good choice of words, that makes me very happy. An acidic pun pleases me. I also enjoy feedback and I read everything that you post here. I find other insights really helpful and they can modulate where I go. I can be brash at times and then I read a comment and think – oh, that’s a great point I hadn’t considered. Once considered it can lead to me altering my view so yes, I can be swayed.
One of the very features of Substack is the lack of trolls. I assume (rightly) that this written form is a defence shield against MOST trolls, although I have had a few. On platforms like X, they are a pain, but here there is peace. That’s the other thing about Substack, I find it tranquil. It’s an oasis of good argument, good information and nice people.
So I keep going here. I hope you like it.
