I have been supporting Donald Trump since 2015, having been one of the few Brits back then that the mainstream media invited in to mock for my support! But, Trump has now won three successive Presidencies (One of which was stolen by Biden, of course) and even though the media still hates on him, he does a good job in many areas. This contrasts with Obama and Biden who did a bad job in every area.
President Trump has frequently referred to himself as a “peacemaker” and I think that’s a good thing, on the whole. His desire to make peace is currently manifest in three areas – the Russia/Ukraine war, the Gaza/Israel conflict and now the India-Pakistan crisis. We shouldn’t underestimate the scale of the challenges he faces in all three conflicts.
It seems to be that NATO/Deep State set up the Ukraine conflict to try and bring down Russia and to do so by risking WW3. I carry no candle for Russia but I do observe that Putin has been incredibly restrained in the face of outrageous provocations. As I write this, here is the sort of headline the western media are pumping out.
Comedy gold. Starmer is no position to lecture Russia.
Meanwhile, Zelensky does all he can to try and keep the conflict going so his grift can continue. The terms of peace that Ukraine wants are simply not realistic or achievable so I wonder how his one will play out. In the event of peace, Zelensky is finished.
The Israel/Gaza conflict is existential and I am far from sure how meaningful any “cease-fire” efforts have been. It seems to be that Hamas is the core problem and the only way Hamas is dealt with is by having Palestinians reject them (unlikely) or by Israel erasing them (ongoing). Trump has amped up the threats to Hamas but without a lot of progress as far as I can see.
The most recent conflict between India and Pakistan is one were the Trump team were actively involved to stop the crisis escalating between these two nuclear armed powers. I get that. However I think India should have been given the time to finish off Pakistan which is terrorist incubator State. The US brokered ceasefire lasted a few hours before Pakistan breached it.
At every turn, the Trump instincts seem right. He wants to save human life and how can we not admire that and support that? These global conflicts are all dangerous and all capable of ending in mushroom clouds and so I “get” why Trump works so hard and with little media gratitude!
