The single greatest threat to individual liberty is the growth of the State. The bigger the size of the State then the smaller the freedoms of the individual. It’s worth bearing that in mind because the UK is about to enter a period of sustained Statism under Labour.
The lure is that if *only* you put your total TRUST in the State then it will do all it can do take care of you. This contrasts with the actual reality that the State would be quite happy to kill you.
