The BBC is an Neo-Stalinist anachronism – a digital abomination – that no one should be forced to pay for. And yet we do! In fact, it rakes in around £3.6bn a year. Currently, every household in the UK that watches live television or uses BBC iPlayer must pay a flat rate of £174.50 per year. This fee is mandatory and enforced through criminal prosecution for non-payment. So basically if you are found to watch live TV and have not handed over £174.50 to the BBC, you may be fined and could even go to prison! That is how draconian the BBC tax enforcement mechanism is but the BBC has a big problem. More and more people don’t watch the god forsaken (literally) out put and their revenues are dropping. The BBC has come up with a cunning plan!
