Israel is right to ban Labour activists

I was pleased to see that Israel HAS banned two Labour MPs, Chinese born Yuan Yang and Yemen born Abtisam Mohamed, from entering the country. Have to be honest and say that I am much more concerned that Yang and Mohamed are in our country.

Why, you may ask, has Israel taken this decision? Well it is due to reasonable suspicions it has that the pair intended to “document the activities of security forces and spread anti-Israel hatred,” according to a statement from the Israeli immigration ministry.

These two MPs, who represent Earley and Woodley and Sheffield Central respectively (Not Gaza), were part of a parliamentary delegation traveling to Israel and the West Bank.

Israeli authorities have accused them of planning to provoke, harm Israeli citizens, and spread falsehoods, citing their previous actions such as supporting boycotts, calling for sanctions against Israeli ministers, and making statements critical of Israel.

That seems fair enough to me. What sane country, apart from the UK, welcomes people who hate it?

Yemen born Abtisam Mohamed had initiated a cross-party letter in February 2025, signed by 61 MPs and lords, advocating for a ban on goods from Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories, referencing an International Court of Justice opinion. She is a hard left activist.

The decision to deny entry reflects Israel’s stance on controlling its borders and preventing individuals perceived as hostile from entering, a practice it justified as consistent with policies in other nations like the UK.

This incident has sparked a diplomatic row, with very low IQ Foreign Secretary David Lammy calling it “unacceptable” and “deeply concerning,” while the MPs themselves expressed pantomime astonishment, arguing it was vital for parliamentarians to witness the situation in the “occupied Palestinian territory” firsthand.

So why do the good people of Earley and Woodley and Sheffield Central need to have a first hand account of what is happening in Israel? They don’t. This is two Israel hating foreign born Labour activists out to spread their poison and Israel just said NO to them.

I wish the UK had also said no to them!
