In a world of AI deep fake what can we believe?

I watched a video of Dr Tedros announcing that the Mpox scare declared a few weeks ago was over. Seeing as how I don’t believe there is such a thing in first place I was mildly amused at this but then I studied the video again and I then checked the WHO website and I think the Tedros video widely circulating on social media is an AI generated fake. It got me thinking – as AI gets better and better it is going to be increasingly difficult to distinguish between things that are REAL and things that are FAKE and that presents all sorts of issues.

Can you believe the evidence of your own eyes anymore? If you can’t, how can you make any informed decisions? I have seen all kinds of new generation A1 content which superficially looks very credible and you could easily be forgiven for thinking what you have seen was real and did happen. But it didn’t. That’s the problem.

Government and other globalist actors have access to this technology and it is quite frightening to think how they could use it. In sense, anyone of us could be targeted and a video could emerge of an “AI version of us” doing or saying things we never would but to most people we would be perceived to have done precisely what the video shows.

I find all this unsettling. Trying to hold power responsible is hard enough but we are sliding rapidly into an era where you cannot believe your lying eyes!
