Prime Minister Starmer suggests that he may need to release 40,000 prisoners early as our prisons are overflowing! James Timpson, the new Prisons Minister, suggests that only one third of those who go to prison should go there. We can expect fewer people being given custodial sentences and a mushrooming of crime.
