I am not a fan of Dr David Bull, the man who Nigel Farage has made chairman of Reform. My concerns about Bull link back to Covid times when he and Richard Tice suggested that health workers should not have the right to bodily autonomy and that they should be forced to take the Covid jabs, or be sacked. Here is the exchange concerned;
Richard Tice on healthcare workers:
“I don’t see how they can continue to do the job if they’re not prepared to be vaccinated.”
David Bull:
“Caregivers – they really must be vaccinated” … “There is no way you’re travelling abroad without a vaccine”
Note the authoritarian pivot from the pair and the staggering lack of accuracy in what they both claimed then.
Anyway, most recently, Bull has commented on the transgender prisoner issue. He references Vanessa Frake, the former prison governor and now a key Reform adviser who opposes a blanket ban on “trans women “ in female jails, advocating case-by-case assessments for “fully transitioned” individuals.
“If you’ve got female parts but are biologically a man, where do you put them?” Bull pondered, clarifying it’s not official policy but noting biological sex separation.
Well heads up, if you are born a MALE that is what you remain. You can lop bits off, you can surgically augment bits, but your biology does nor change. That is what the Supreme Court has determined so I am surprised that Reform seem to have a problem with this! There is NO transition. End of debate.
Men who want to be women need medical help. But they should be kept OUT of women’s prisons. ALL of them.
Reform are weak on this and cannot be trusted. Farage seems all over the place on this issue simultaneously saying he opposes men in women’s prisons but then saying it is on a case by case basis! Wheat?
David Bull also has advocated for a “socially liberal” stance and criticises former colleagues for their “obsession” with Islam and immigration. Bull describes politics as “won and lost in the centre-ground” and frames Reform as championing “common sense” over ideology. Now that might sound OK but as we see on this trans issue, if Reform refuse to accept biological reality backed up by the Supreme Court, common sense seems missing in action.
