I have never bought into the idea that Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is “tough but fair” on immigration. She is Labour through and through and so cannot be trusted. She has just published a NEW paper that outlines her “asylum plans” and it’s worse than you think! Yes, that bad. By 2030, up to Ten thousand EXTRA migrants can come here, legally.
She calls this about establishing “safe and legal routes” for genuine refugees, with community sponsorship where approved groups handle housing and integration, university study visas, and future work routes. Biometric checks, criminal records, health screenings – all the right buzzwords.
In reality, this is exactly the kind of announcement that fuels our disgust and rage. Our country is already groaning under record migration, housing shortages, strained public services, and growing societal friction. Cross Channel boat crossings continue unabated, deportations remain a total joke, and integration failures are visible on our streets every day.
Yet along toodles the Mahmood and the toxic Home Office actively creating new pipelines for more arrivals. Why it’s like they think we haven’t enough!. The “community sponsorship model is particularly worrying. Handing groups – including faith organisations – the power to “choose” who they bring in risks turning into chain migration by another name. Mosques or activist networks could sponsor large numbers from specific regions, with the state footing much of the bill while locals deal with the consequences.
We’ve seen how this sort of “selective compassion” works in practice. It brings us ungrateful people from violent societies. .Talk of “strict screening” is risible precisely because vetting has often been weak or overwhelmed.
When governments ignore the clear “enough is enough” message from their own people, they don’t restore confidence – they destroy it. This new scheme exposes a deeper disconnect: an establishment still wedded to open-ish borders and international signalling, even as ordinary Britons bear the daily costs.
Without radical reform – actual deterrence, mass returns, and prioritising our own people first – announcements like this feel less like a solution and more like a provocation. Britain doesn’t need more managed migration right now.
This delivers the opposite.
