In a sign of things to come, the NHS is now suggesting that rather than send out ambulances to those elderly patients that have fallen, they will instead send out “community response groups” who can help and provide access to additional services. The really curious thing is that they are saying that to qualify for this the patients must have fallen but NOT hurt themselves. But if they have not hurt themselves why would they have needed an ambulance in the first place.
