We have the worst Prime Minister and the worst Government at the most dangerous of times. With Iran seeking to blackmail the world by closing the Strait of Hormuz, and President Trump suggesting it’s up to those who use this waterway to open it up, what does UK PM Starmer suggest? Yes, let’s subvert Brexit and rejoin the EU.
Yesterday, Starmer gave an early morning “address to the Nation” in which he said nothing new beyond making the fatuous claim that what is happening in the Gulf is proof we need to integrate more closely with the EU. Yes, really.
“The UK will pursue closer economic ties with the European Union in light of the war in Iran, Sir Keir Starmer has said. The prime minister told a news conference he would use a summit with the EU later this year to seek more cooperation with the bloc on the economy and security.”
This is the same EU which has proven itself to be utterly impotent over helping the US over the Iran issue. So we know he is lying when he suggests that somehow there is a need to do any such thing. However Starmer and his political party have always hated Brexit and we should remember how hard they campaigned to get us to Remain. The British political establishment has always opposed the idea that the UK should be sovereign and so it was always inevitable that Labour would do all it can to reverse Brexit once in power. Labour’s 2024 manifesto pledge to “respect” Brexit was always just a vague pledge that can be easily gotten around and that is where we now find ourselves.
Synching the UK to the rotting economic corpse of the EU is a key Labour objective. This is about ideology uber alles. Now Starmer himself may have limited time left as I think he will be removed next month following catastrophic local election results as well as huge losses in Wales and Scotland BUT anyone who succeeds him is likely to be just as fervently pro EU and thus willing to ignore the democratically expressed will of the British people in 2016. Labour is the anti Brexit Party and it now controls the levers go power.
Further political emasculation of the UK lies at the very top of the Labour agenda. We may not be able to defend our own territories but we hey we can offer “free” school meals and we will write strongly worded letters to the Mullahs begging them not to attack our vessels passing through the international waterway that is the Strait of Hormuz.
I have never hated a British Government as much as much as I hate this one.
