I’m sure I am not the only person who has watched the alliance between the hard left and Islam, best typified in the Corbyn/Zultana “Your Party” alliance, and wondered what drives it? After all, Islam is a total system in itself. So why does it align with a political ideology found in the extreme left? The answer, of course, is convenience.
Marxists and Islamists have a common hatred of our pluralist democracies. They share a bond of wanting to take it down and replace it. However there is not a common shared destination, which I will get to shortly. At this point in time. the Islamic/Marxist front can unite around a number of topics;

They are profoundly anti-semitic and the “Palestine” cause gives them something they can protest about. Some will wonder why things in Gaza invoke the passions of the Left when things in the UK seem of less interest. I understand why Muslims living in Britain rally behind this – they hate Israel so will naturally stand with Hamas or whatever it will call itself going forward.But it’s strange seeing the mental dissonance of the Left warp themselves in Keffiyehs and Pali flag as they chant “from the river to the sea”

Islamophobia; Both Muslims and Leftists are united in calling out something that does not exist in any meaningful way – Islamophobia. In the case of the former, they use it to close down any debate on their ideology and crying victim works well with the legacy media. Marxists seem to knee-jerk into the same mindset and reflexively reject ANY debate on Islam. The LGBT sub sect within the Left are a very curious manifestation of this and “Queers for Palestine” must be the ultimate winner of a Darwinian Prize!
Islam will use the left to gain power. Then, it will destroy the Left as it will no longer have any need of them. Islam does not share power, it occupies power, ruthlessly and permanently. Democracy is not part of the Islamist system. So the alliance that you see emerging across the left, for example in New York with the Marxst/Muslim Zohran Mamdani, is a prototype phase.
Islam wants power but it will carefully cloak its intentions until it is too late for us.
It’s the scorpion and the frog writ large.
“A frog was hopping along the shore of a river looking for a place to cross. He came upon a scorpion sitting on the shore. “Hello, friend frog,” said the scorpion. “It appears you are looking to cross the river. I too want to cross. Would you mind carrying me?”
The frog was taken aback. “Why, if I let you on my back to cross the river, you’d sting me and I would die. I don’t think I’ll do that.”
The scorpion immediately replied, “There is no logic to your concern. If I sting you and you die, I will surely die as well, since I can’t swim. I wouldn’t need a ride if I could swim.”
The frog thought a moment and then said, “Your logic makes sense. Why would you kill me if it would result in your death? Come along and climb on my back and we’ll cross this river.”
The scorpion climbed on the frog’s back and off they went to cross the river.
About halfway across the river, the scorpion raised its tail and stung the frog. The frog was both astounded and disconsolate. “Why did you sting me? Now I will die and you will surely drown and die also.”
The scorpion replied, “I can’t help it. It’s who I am. It’s in my nature.”
