Have a a long look at this chart. It’s an obituary for a once rich continent.
Back in 1961, the EU nations saw about 7 million births. By 2024, that number dropped to under 4 million. That’s almost half and that’s devastating.
Meanwhile, EU deaths have climbed. In 1961, there were 4 million deaths. Now, it’s over 5 million. Last year, deaths outnumbered births by 1.26 million and that’s a big decline!
Linked to the abortion issue, we see that European Fertility rates have been falling for decades now. Experts tell us a rate of 2.1 children per woman is needed to keep the population stable. A 2021 European Commission study shows the EU rate is around 1.38. The result? A shrinking population.
You might ask why this is happening? I think there are several reasons for this but foremost of these is abortion. Countries like France and Spain are aborting themselves into oblivion. Even the once anti abortion Italy is now killing one in ten babies. It tragic to witness this and not compatible with a flourishing continent.
If young couples choose not to have families in sufficient numbers to replace themselves then what we are witnessing is the slow death of Europe.
It is aborting itself into history.
