I can’t say that I have wasted any of my time reading Hilary Mantel’s “Wolf Hall” books but I note that a new series of “Wolf Hall” returns to the BBC, but with a new “diverse” range of characters which replaces historically white characters. See below for some of these. Not the sort of faces to frequent the Tudor Court but who cares, right?
Let’s call a spade a spade, this is whitewashing history to completely remove accuracy and replace it with modern PC diversity. It’s not the first time that we have witnessed this manipulation – for example do you remember when they tried to pass this off as Anne of Cleves?
It’s not that there is anything wrong with these actors as such BUT there is everything wrong with the fact that they are being used to replace WHITE historical people. It would be no different if Tom Cruise was cast as Martin Luther King!
