I thought this was a pretty interesting story that flags up the space where LGBTQ+ virtue signalling academics meet Islam.
A senior Ulster University academic has said sending information on LGBT Pride to students at its Qatar campus is “highly problematic”.
Prof Odette Hutchinson said that while the university should celebrate Pride, it needs to be “cognisant of different cultural expectations”.
Human rights campaigners urged the university not to have “double standards” on freedom of expression. Ulster University said it is committed to “equality, diversity and inclusion”. The university established a partnership in Qatar with City University College in 2020 to offer a range of degree courses to students in its capital city Doha.
You can smell their fear of losing the £££’s from Qatar – a strict Muslim country which does NOT tolerate LGBTQ+ism in any way and which punishes homosexuality by imprisonment, or theoretically worse! It’s all very well to lecture local students on LGBT issues but Qatar won’t accept any of it and if the University doesn’t like that, it can close up shop and forget the cash! But it won’t. The hypocrites who run this University will keep pocketing the Qatar generated cash whilst remaining mute on the rainbow stuff.
