It started with France. Then the UK. Next up Canada. Then Finland. Now Australia and New Zealand seem ready to hop on the Palestine Express, next stop, Narnia!
Australia will recognise a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September, following similar moves by the UK, France and Canada, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said. Albanese said Australia received commitments from the Palestinian Authority (PA) including to demilitarise, hold general elections and continue to recognise Israel’s right to exist.
And what if they don’t? stick to their commitments? All these nations are ganging up on Israel and seem determined to support the Palestinian cause.
US Secretary of Defense Marco Rubio is clear on where all of this pathetic virtue signalling leads. He is stating the obvious – why would Hamas agree to any ceasefire if they are going to get what they want in September regardless?
The Anglosphere outside the US seems vehemently on the side of the “Palestinians” and that includes Hamas. Do you think this might have anything to do with the fact they all contain large and growing muslim populations? Is there support an indication of their weakness?
Hamas must love witnessing this craven cowardice from all these countries, I am sure it is motivating for them. Yet Rubio is right that all this really does is postpone the prospect of any real peace. Israel is right to wipe Hamas off the face of the Earth and will ignore all these UN-centric threats!
