One of the very first “punk” singles I bought in 1977 was “In the City” by The Jam, a band featuring Paul Weller as lead vocalist/ lead guitarist. They adopted a “Mod” image with a sound similar to The Who. They went on to fame and fortune before Weller left the band in 1982 to form The Style Council and then pursue his solo career.

Here’s an image of Paul taken at the weekend, traipsing through the streets of London, the ultimate town called malice. As you can see, he is decorated in Palestinian imagery not forgetting a little Keffiyeh! Take that, Israel, right? (sarcasm)
