As the sands of time run out on 2025, I thought I would give you a hostage to fortune by offering you a few forecasts for 2026! Bookmark it and we will see in 12 months time if was right or wrong!

  1. The UK will have a new Prime Minister. Sir Keir Starmer is headed towards the exit door and the May elections will be the hammer blow. I don’t know who will succeed him but the adenoidal knight will not survive 2026 in Downing Street.

  2. More broadly, UK politics will be firmly divided between extreme leftist ideology (Greens, SNP, Plaid) and the centre right, Reform. The old Uniparty will look irrelevant.

  3. There will not be an end to the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Despite the best efforts of Trump, NATO/UN/Kiev will keep the grift going.

  4. Access to the internet will increasingly be dependent on proof of age as anonymity is erased. No ID = no internet. 2025 was the warm up act.

  5. The Mid-terms in the US will not be good for the Republicans as the Democrats make substantial gains and win control of the House.

  6. Hungary’s Viktor Orban faces a big challenge that I think he will win. Sweden/Denmark will see Sweden Democrats/Danish People’s Party gains amid the big migration debate. Europe will change.

  7. Regardless of leader, the UK Government will further pivot INTO the EU by declaring a return to some sort of Customs Union.

  8. Following two heavy tax rising budgets in 2024 and 205 , the UK economy will slump and Labour will express puzzlement at what has caused this.

  9. Mass migration into the Western heartlands will be increasingly met with popular calls for mass deportation. This will be a mainstream view.

  10. And finally, the BBC will declare 2026 the hottest year on record!

Regardless of what happens, I hope to be here to give you my take on it!
