Those voices we have lost….

I thought I would take a look at a few of the well known singers we have lost this past year, triggered by the just announced death of English singer-songwriter yesterday, Chris Rea.

Chris was the musician behind the festive classic Driving Home for Christmas, and has died at the age of 74. I liked his music and in particular the epic “The Road to Hell” back in 1989. He first charted in 1978 with “Fool if you think it over” and battled against severe health complications most of his life

Another big loss for me the was the lead singer in The Mavericks, Raul Malo. Raul died of cancer earlier this month aged 60. He had a fantastic voice and I had the privilege of seeing him live in concert back in 2018.

The Mavericks hit the big time in 1998 with this upbeat classic. I was hooked and bought all their stuff. I will miss Raul.

Finally, we lost Rick Davies. He was the lead singer in Supertramp and died back in September at 81 from cancer. I bet you all know this one!

Though they are gone, the voices live on.
