The BBC is excited, in fact it’s delirious. It declares with unmitigated joy..
This year is on course to be the UK’s hottest since records began, according to the Met Office, as climate change continues to drive temperatures to new heights. With just over a week still to go, the average UK air temperature across 2025 is on track to end up at about 10.05C. A cooler Christmas could affect final figures, but it is likely that 2025 will edge out the current record of 10.03C from 2022, the Met Office says.
And the cause of all this heat?
Climate Change.
It’s such tedious nonsense, of course, and here’s why.
Over 80% of Met Office temperature stations are rated Class 4 or 5 by World Meteorological Organisation standards. This means potential biases up to 2-5°C from urban heat, nearby obstacles, or poor exposure. These junk sites inflate modern readings compared to better-sited historical data. Further, evidence shows them running 0.5°C+ hotter than reference sites like Rothamsted during peaks like 1976 and 2025 summers.
If that was not damning enough, The Met Office itself has deleted large chunks of historic temperature data after scrutiny revealed “fabricated” estimates for closed or non-existent stations, such as Lowestoft, where nearby correlated sites were also unreliable or shut. About 100 “ghost” stations still generate invented data for long-term averages. Talk about manipulation.
Homogenisation processes blend junk site data with models, further potentially exaggerating warming for policy narratives like Net Zero,.
No independent audit addresses these, and summer 2025’s record (16.10°C) relies on similar flawed inputs despite warmer seas and high pressure noted by the Met Office.
In short, this is not about weather but rather the weaponisation of weather by the biased BBC.
