We have just had the second night of heavy US attacks on Iran. The Iranians have responded by firing missiles at US bases in the Gulf States. Yesterday, at the NATO conference, Trump suggested that the ceasefire was OVER and that the MOU was dead. Here he is saying it;

As someone who has argued against ANY deal with the demonically Tehran regime, and who has criticised the MOU, I would like to believe Trump is serious. But I can’t be sure. He did go on to say that if the negotiators wanted to continue that was up to them but that he didn’t see any point in talks. I find that classic Trump and you can interpret it in different ways. But he is the President and HE should be telling the negotiators to stop. Instead he leaves an open door through which diplomacy can continue. However we have already seen that the Iranians are bad actors who have no intention of keeping their word. They will promise, they will sign documents, but it is theatre to them.
Oil prices have started to rocket up again with this news and once again traffic through the Strait of Hormuz seems compromised. We can’t go on like this.
I want Trump to finish the job but if he can’t or won’t do that, just walk away.
His instincts seem right but there appear to be forces pulling him in different directions (Hello JD Vance). Let’s hope he prevails.
