President Trump is always several moves ahead of his critics and he just proven this by smoking out all those who feign as allies but refuse to help. In the past 24 hours he put out that which the media chose to intepret as an SOS but it was a test.
He publicly called on NATO members and EU countries to provide naval assistance in securing the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has disrupted amid escalating regional conflict. He demanded warships from allies like the UK, France, Germany, and others to join US efforts in escorting oil tankers through the vital chokepoint, through which 20% of global oil flows.
The UK has demurred. Germany has said no. France looks the other way. The EU has said it was not their way.
Naturally, the media is gloating about this show of cowardice but Trump understood EXACTLY what he was doing.
This is what he said to the Speaker of the House;
“Mr. Speaker, I’ll be reporting to YOU in the House and the Senate. I’ll say, why are we protecting countries that won’t protect us? One or 2 will not do it that we’ve PROTECTED for 40 years at tens of billions of dollars. That was a weakness of NATO. We protect them, but when in need, they won’t protect us!”
Mark Rutte, the General Secretary of NATO understands the reality the EU denies
“If ANYONE thinks here that the European Union or Europe as a whole can defend itself without the US, KEEP ON DREAMING!”
I think the dreaming needs a shock and Ukraine can provide it.
The EU and NATO countries say that Iran is not their war.
Ukraine is not President Trumps war so the US should give the fair-weather Europeans FULL responsibility for every aspect of it. He should stop sharing intelligence with them as well and see how that works out.
Trump has exposed all the NATO and EU snakes and the gullible corporate media don’t even see it, such is their TDS.
In fact I would like to see the US pull out of NATO and create a new pro democracy umbrella that replaces it and only allows in those prepared to stand with each other.
