If you watch the mainstream media (you shouldn’t) you would be forgiven for thinking that President Trump is about to send Delta Force into Greenland and occupy that icy wasteland. Nothing could be further from the truth, of course, but it illustrates what a waste of time the legacy media has become. Naturally some politicians play along with this contrived outrage.
Denmark has boasted that IF the US invaded Greenand it would “shoot first and ask questions later”! Talk about hubris! Others claimed that were it to happen it would be end of NATO. Not sure that would be bad thing (!) but Trump countered brilliantly by saying he wanted Greenland to be able to defend NATO from Chinese and Russia threats. Starmer even tried to insert himself into the discussion by “warning” Trump that this would be decided between Denmark and Greenland and nobody else. Big words from a small man!
However this is a false war. It’s perfectly clear that the US seeks a diplomatic and economic solution. In essence, Trump wants to agree a “deal” with the Greenlanders that would enrich their daily lives and provide more economic opportunity whilst providing the US with the military control it needs. If Greenlanders agree, then all Denmark can do is sulk. I suspect this is the approx route that we go down
As far as I can see, the Trump regime is assertive but based on common sense. It puts America First, of course, but why is that a bad thing? Would you rather have EU first?
