Bias by omission is one of the very worst kinds of bias. The mainstream media talk much (disapprovingly) about the removal of Maduro in Venezuela but they are pretty silent about what is happening right now in Iran. These past several days have seen massive protests across many Iranian cities, including Tehran, but you wouldn’t really know that if you watched the mainstream. Here are a few examples of the people’s revolution that the media doesn’t want to know about!
What you are seeing is a popular uprising against the Shia theocracy that rules Iran. These are people who are sick of living under tyranny and who seek to remove their clerical oppressors. Mostly unarmed, they face death just by the act of protest. Iran under the Mullahs is a regional menace but most of all a threat to many ordinary Iranians. Women, in particular, want to get out of the prison of burqas.
You might have thought these mass protests would garner the attention of the BBC but no such luck. Why it’s ALMOST as if they don’t want to see an Islamic Republic fall!
