Well, it’s been a wild day with the US-Israel decapitation of the Mullah tyranny happening in Iran. I am personally delighted at this and have been calling for it since mid January. This military operation is very much a US-Israel operation so I was very surprised to read this tweet from Restore GB Leader Rupert Lowe!
This was on the heels of his mouthpiece Charlie Downes saying this…
I’m sorry but this is a REALLY bad take by this pair and I took them to task on X for it.
Here is my logic;
For starters, no one is ASKING the UK to “bomb Iran”, Rupert. But is it to much to show verbal support for our allies? It seems so in the world of Restore GB.
Secondly, there are around 114,000 Iranians here in the UK who have fled the terror regime. A FREE Iran means they can go home and rebuild their once proud country. Isn’t that what Rupert wants?
Third, trying to pass this off as “A quarrel in a faraway country, between people of whom we know nothing” is not a good look.
Nigel Farage, Ben Habib and Kemi Badenoch called this one RIGHT.
Lowe has taken a position which has much in common with Green Party Leader Zack Polanski, which is quite astounding.
Look, it is perfectly reasonable to prioritise Britain and want to put Britain first. I want that too! But it’s important that we offer at least moral support to our allies as they seek to take down the malignant Mullahs and free 90 million people. To all intents and purposes Britain is now a minor world power. It is understood that the US did NOT tell the UK in advance of the overnight attacks on the Iranian regime. So quite why Rupert and his henchmen felt the need to insist we would NOT be involved is curious.
But then things got worse!
When I brought up the fact that Neville Chamberlain also chose an isolationist approach in 1939, 1st September 1939 to be precise, I was attacked by some Restore supporters who told me we should NOT have declared war against Germany. Is this what Restore stands for – total isolation from the outside world and zero understanding of how sometime, we must support allies?
My confidence in Restore Britain lies shattered. If they get this wrong, what else will they get wrong?
