I see that Chancellor Rachel Reeves has hailed closer integration with the European Union as the “biggest prize” for Britain’s economy. Speaking in what appears to be a calculated pivot from Labour’s pre-election ambiguity on Brexit, Reeves argues that rebuilding ties with the EU bloc could unlock unprecedented growth. Now we cannot really be that surprised about this but we can be rightly furious about it as this is a clear reversal of Brexit and more evidence of Labour plunging leftwards.
