It’s a Pathway to hell.
I’m talking about the NHS PATHWAYS trial that is starting next month which plans to give puberty blockers to 226 children under 16 amid a nationwide ban on the drugs. I mean we could stop it just right there since these Mengelian drugs are BANNED but that is not the case, apparently!
Led by King’s College London, (That name rings a bell btw!) PATHWAYS will randomly assign participants to “immediate” or “delayed” treatment arms, subjecting them to MRI brain scans and cognitive tests in a sub-study.
The Cass Review laid bare the absolute folly involved: puberty blockers offer “remarkably weak evidence” of benefit while posing “significant risks” to bone density, brain development, and psychosexual health. Dr. Hilary Cass who authored it, branded them “powerful drugs with unproven benefit,” Yet here we are, seven months after Labour’s permanent ban, resurrecting them in a trial that flouts her warnings. It’s insane but shows the wicked enthusiasm some have for drugging our children.
The actual puberty blocker drugs themselves are not harmless “pause buttons” so their apologists would have us believe. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues were developed for prostate cancer and precocious puberty, not for healthy adolescents! Their known side-effects are horrific: osteoporosis by age 25, sterilisation if followed by cross-sex hormones, cognitive impairment, and lifelong sexual dysfunction. This is cruel beyond words. How dare they expose ANY children to this?
The Commission on Human Medicines ruled them too dangerous for routine use in 2024. Sweden, Finland, Norway, and now half of Europe have restricted or banned them entirely. Yet Britain, under this wicked Labour government that promised to “follow the science,” is doubling down on the very drugs the world is abandoning.
How, you rightly ask, can this be happening? Well, I suggest it is ideological capture, pure and simple. Activists inside and outside the NHS have bullied weak politicians into treating children as collateral damage in a culture-war. Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s claim that the trial is “careful and evidence-led” is contemptible doublespeak. Careful science does not require the deliberate chemical mutilation of children to prove a point already disproven!!!
PATHWAYS must be stopped.
Every doctor who signs off on it, every ethicist who rubber-stamps it, and every politician who funds it should be held personally accountable for the predictable consequences. These children will inevitably come forward in ten years’ time with shattered bones, sterilised bodies, and ruined lives. The politicians and medics behind it will be long gone by then, of course. But the kids suffering won’t.
Our country once prided itself on protecting children from exploitation. Now it is running the largest experiment on the bodies of vulnerable kids in Europe.
