It’s pretty clear that Zohran Mamdani is the frontrunner heading into the November 2025 election for the role of Mayor of New York. He leads in the latest polls by a double-digit margin over independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa and I think it is 100% that he will triumph next month.
But what does this mean?
Well, I think that it will be good news for America and bad news for those in New York and the Democrats. Let me explain why.
Mamdani thrills the woke New Yorkers, whose white liberal base is drawn to his lunacy. Here are just some of his mad marxist ideas, and as you will see it is all about free stuff. The usual bait.
If elected he will provide Universal Child Care by creating a citywide, publicly funded system for all children under five years old. He will also provide free Public Transportation: by making all city bus rides free and implementing a subway fare freeze. Another big promise is affordable Public Housing. He says he will construct 200,000 new rent-stabilised, affordable housing units over 10 years and establishment of a Social Housing Development Agency.
And the promises keep coming. There will be an immediate freeze on all rent-stabilised apartments, and strengthened tenant protections. In true commie style he is going to open up City-Owned Grocery Stores. There will also be Tuition-Free Colleges. Further and further into fantasy land he promises a minimum Wage Increase, He wants to make NYC an LGBTQ+ sanctuary city, create an Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs, expand and protect gender mutilation services citywide.
All of the above may cost some ¢9-10 bullion so HOW will these be afforded? Well, he will increase corporate tax rates from 7.25% to 11.5% and add a new 2% income tax on residents earning over $1 million annually, while cutting property taxes for “overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs”.
In summary, this guy will soak the rich and successful. New York will suffer and will be in full conflict with the Trump regime. None of this will be good.
Mamdani represents the extreme edge of the woke left. His policies cannot work and if the Democrats follow him, they will lose heavily in 2028. That’s the good news.
