Well, New Yorkers look set to discover that communism doesn’t work and following his inauguration as Mayor, Zohran Mamdani has made it cleat what will happen!
Note the wild applause from the crowd when he says;
“we will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.”
He’s not the first to say such a thing. Here are a few historical antecedents!
“The common good before the individual good” – Adolf Hitler
“Capital is a collective product, and only by the united action of many members, nay, in the last resort only by the united action of all members of society, can it be set in motion” -Karl Marx
“Our power does not know liberty or justice. It is established on the destruction of the individual will” – Vladimir Lenin
“The individual is subordinate to the organization, the minority is subordinate to the majority, the lower level is subordinate to the higher level, and the entire membership is subordinate to the Central Committee” – Mao Zedong
“We must create a collective spirit, a single will, a single conscience in the nation”– Benito Mussolini
“We must eliminate the individualism that stands in the way of the collective”– Pol Pot
Now we have established where his strain of political thought comes from, consider a few of his actions.
He has removed Executive Order 61, which established zones in which protests close to the entrance of houses of worship would be prohibited/regulated. Hamas fans will be pleased. Synagogues will be targets.
He has also indicated he wants to RAISE the minimum wage in New York from ¢17 an hour to ¢30 an hour. When they tried this in California and raised it to ¢20 an hour, jobs for young people fell as employers made the predicable adjustment.
Mamdani is an even more radical Mayor than Sadiq Khan and New York is headed for chaos, crime and collective despair.
