I was a landlord for a few years. My kids were going off to University and to try and help them I bought a house which they then both used for several years. They eventually moved on, and I had a few student tenants for a year or so but lost all interest in their little dramas, and sold it around 2017. Looking back that was a good time to get out of that market.
Why? Well, the new Renters’ Rights Bill is shaping up to be a catastrophic overreach by a British state so broken that it can’t even begin manage its housing crisis and is going to make it so much worse. Let me explain.
