I’m not really sure what the point of Substack is anymore. I find it really demotivating writing on a Platform which stifles ANY growth and gives me month and month decline in both paid and unpaid subscribers. So I suppose the substack algorithm wins as it crushes my reach, my traffic collapses and I seriously start to wonder why it’s worth bothering.
When I was putting out multiple articles a day here, 90% of which were free to read, it took a few hours of my time, usually mornings or evenings. I was happy to put that effort in, thinking that things would improve.
They’re not.
I can write long form content like this over on my X account and not endure the contempt of Substack. However, I like my regular audience here.
I wonder how much Substack censors at the behest of the UK Government and does it target certain people, like me?
