Is Substack a psyop?

NEW!

Of all the platforms I am on I find this one the most infuriating and the least rewarding. As I have pointed out before, 2026 has seen continued decline in my follower numbers here and more recently my article views. This at a time when I grow on every other platform. Is it just a strange coincidence or is there more to it than that?

Substack seems seductive. It has a nice feel to it when writing and it has lots of cool features. But is it controlled by algorithms that don’t like certain points of views – like mine? I was looking at which articles posted here by me have gained the most interest and I can see that they share a common theme – critical of Islam. I think that had caused the problem as perhaps a certain interest group has algorithmic protection and I transgressed against it.

Good. I could not care less if I offend certain sensitivities here. I write what I think, just as I do elsewhere.

Loads of topics interest me, however, and I can also see that the VAST majority of articles I write don’t even mention Islam or Muslims. I am just as likely to tackle the economy, or climate or any one of a hundred other topics.

But for now at least, Substack is a dead end for me.

However I will not walk away from it.

I will continue to write frankly and with honesty.

All I would ask if that those who are bothered consider subscribing to this account.

Look upon it as as FU to Substack!
