Insulting our heroes!

There’s something that is sickeningly hypocritical about virtue signalling politicians and one of the worst of these is Sir Keir Starmer.

Starmer has branded Donald Trump ‘insulting and frankly appalling’ as he led a chorus of fury over the US President’s alleged slur against British soldiers who fought and died in Afghanistan.

He said the US President should apologise for remarks belittling Nato’s role in the conflict in a television interview that worsened the deepest transatlantic rift in decades. Politicians and military veterans reacted with outrage after the President told Fox News that Nato troops, including those from Britain, stayed ‘a little off the front lines’ during the war in Afghanistan. Some 457 British service personnel were killed in the conflict in Afghanistan, fighting alongside the US, and countless more were severely wounded.

Here’s my problem with Starmer. He lectures Trump about belittling the sacrifices of British soldiers but it is Starmer who has enabled primary legislation that will allow the persecution of British soldiers who served honourably in Northern Ireland. Trump may have insulted British soldiers but it it Starmer who is putting them on trial. It is Starmer who puts meek compliance to the human rights legacy vultures before protecting our brave soldiers. His outrage about Trump’s alleged remarks would carry more weight if he was not guilty of betraying our military himself.

Furthermore, President Trump did NOT specifically mention British troops when it comes to the Afghanistan situation. Whilst I accept that Trump may have mis-spoke I cannot abide the chorus of UK politicians who treat our military with contempt when it suits them and then posture as their savours. So spare me their piety.

It’s NOT President Trump pursuing our veterans through the Courts.

It’s NOT President Trump providing our military with below par equipment.

It’s NOT President Trump allowing our veterans to die alone on the streets
