Dolly Parton was NOT a Satanist.

Just for writing one of the greatest love songs of all time “I will always love you”, Dolly Parton deserves every accolade given her! The fact that she spend a 60 year long career writing other classics like “Jolene” and ‘Nine to 5” and “Butterflies” simply illustrates what an amazing songwriter she was!

I finally got to see her LIVE in 2007 when she came to Belfast. My wife was a BIG fan and I went along and was impressed at the joy this diminuitive blonde on stage gave to the audience. She was clearly a very skilled guitarist and of course had that unique Tennessee voice. She chose a very particular rhinestone image, the massive wigs and the hourglass figure, as she herself put it’

It takes a lot of money to look this cheap!

Her self deprecating sense of humour was another fantastic asset. I must have listened to several Dolly interviews since her death was announced and she was genuinely funny. Here’s just one example of her wit.

Now, I am sure you will have read plenty of tributes to Dolly Parton by now but this one is a defence of her. No sooner had she died than certain allegations started to appear on the sewer that is X which suggested she was some sort of Satanist. I want to go through TWO of these with you as I think it so unfair to sully her reputation in this way.

First, this clip made the rounds suggesting Dolly was toasting “the God Azazel”

Azazel, for those wondering, is vividly personified as a leader of the Watchers (a group of angels who rebelled against God. According to the text, he descended to Earth and taught humanity forbidden knowledge. It seems odd that Dolly would choose to toast and of course she never did. What we have here is a garbled video but

Which brings me to THIS video clip also doing the rounds.

In this one, Dolly is responding to a $2m gift to her Imaginations charity from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce and she thanks them and jokes about letting her have their “hypothetical” first born child. This is presented as a gotcha moment but it’s nothing of the kind. Dolly was never able to have kids of her own and she has spent her work helping more vulnerable children in all kinds of ways. This was a joke and anyone taking it as some sort of request for a child sacrifice is gullible, at best.

There are a few other clues that Dolly was NOT a Satanist. She spent her life praising God, recording gospel songs, and she even wrote a tune called “Go to Hell, Satan”

These are not the conventional actions of a Satanist but rather those of someone who has a deep Christian faith! There were some aspect of her liberal Christianity I didn’t agree with, in particular her acceptance of the trans movement. But each to their own,

We have all feet of clay and that included Dolly. I was horrified by her enthusiasm for Moderna Covid jabs, and in particular regard jabs for kids. Even if you went along with the vaccine orthodoxy (and I didn’t) I found this to be utterly cringe making. She took one her most loved and famous songs, Jolene, and bastardised it for Big Pharma.

Not her finest hour but I remind you that I am not perfect and I don’t think anyone else is either. We all have feet of clay. She was in her mid-70’s at this point so critical faculty is not optimal. Many other decent people were also taken in Fauci and the Covid complex so I just think this is one that she got badly wrong.

When all is said and done, Dolly Parton was a force for good. She wrote uplifting music, had a cheerful demeanour, done a great amount of charitable GOOD and she will be missed.

To finish, I wanted to leave you what I consider one of the most powerful love songs ever written, and her cultural immortality is assured.

Beautiful.
