I have been to see an Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice theatrical production in the form of “Evita” and but never “Jesus Christ, Superstar”. There’s been always something about the idea of a rock musical about Jesus Christ that struck me as a bit off. But I know that it contains a few good tunes such as “I don’t know how to love him” and of course “Superstar”.
It first came out in 1971 and carries on to this day. A brand new version has just started at the Hollywood Bowl, a super cool location which I have visited. The trouble with this new version is that a black lesbian Cynthia Erivo has been cast in the role of Jesus and a homosexual Adam Lambert as Judas.
I think this is just demonic mockery of Christ and it sickens me. Naturally the “critics” love this new production and are raving about it.
Here is another disturbing scene from this production – the crucifixion.
They would NEVER dare do this to Mohammad but they delight in doing it to Christ.
