Tusk is taking the PiS!

I never liked Donald Tusk. I vividly remember how thoroughly obnoxious he was during the Brexit negotiations. Do you remember when as European Council President, he spoke of a “special place in hell” for “those who promoted Brexit without even a sketch of a plan of how to carry it out safely”?
We should have told him to go to hell!
You will have seen that Poland has been plunged into chaos these past few days, and I thought we could take a few moments to understand exactly what is going on here, as the legacy media sure as heck won’t let us know.
So, what caused this crisis?
First, we need to understand that Tusk is effectively targeting PiS. PiS is the Law and Justice Party (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość – PiS) and is the major right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. It is a staunch defender of Poland’s sovereignty and identity and has valiantly opposed mass immigration.
That makes it a BIG problem for the EU. It is an obstacle that must be crushed.
Over the past two days, the Constitutional Tribunal has seen its president, Bogdan Święczkowski (a PiS appointee), suspended by another judge, Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, who assumed control. In response, President Karol Nawrocki—elected in June 2025 as a PiS-backed candidate—cut short a foreign trip, returned to Warsaw, and accused Tusk of a “forcible takeover.”
He is quite right to make this allegation.
Riot police were then deployed amid the protests outside the court. Tusk’s junta described the move as “restoring the rule of law” after years of PiS influence over the judiciary, which European courts have previously criticised.
President Nawrocki, whose term runs until 2030, holds veto power and has blocked several Tusk judicial nominations and other legislation. The odd cohabitation between a pro-EU parliamentary majority and a nationalist-leaning presidency has produced gridlock.
People ask me: how did Tusk win?
He didn’t.
He became Prime Minister after Poland’s 2023 parliamentary election. PiS which had governed since 2015 won the largest share of seats but fell just short of a majority in the lower house. This enabled Tusk’s ‘Civic Coalition’ which came second, to form a coalition with two other opposition parties. The EU were happy. In November 2023 the four parties formally signed a coalition agreement naming Tusk as their candidate for prime minister.
If you analyse the actual results, Tusk didn’t win the conservative, working-class, rural Polish vote. He only won the big metropolitan cities—Warsaw, Gdańsk, Wrocła and he campaigned at white liberal middle-class women and young graduates who want to be seen as European, not Polish. Pure typical Euroslop.
Prior to Tusk, Poland had secure borders. It had no mass immigration. So what would motivate Tusk to leave a cushy EU job in Brussels to go back there?
Because Brussels needed him back in Warsaw. They needed to subvert the achievements of PiS. PiS was blocking EU federalism. It wanted to keep the złoty currency, keep Polish gold, keep borders open, keep their own legal independence. Tusk is their man in Warsaw. He was installed to take over the courts, take over the Tribunal, open the borders, and get Poland into the euro.
Poland is fighting for it’s very existence as a proud sovereign nation. I hope it prevails although it made a massive mistake on the 1st May 2004 when it joined the EU. It remains my view that the EU and democracy are fundamentally incompatible.
