Did you see that the Treasury removed its Numerical Reasoning Test from the Department’s graduate entry scheme in 2019 because it was deemed to be having an “adverse impact” on candidate DIVERSITY? Who needs to have competent numeracy when you ae working for ..erm.. the Treasury? I means it’s not as if you have to be good at numbers…
Apparently when this requirement was removed the “levels of adverse impact decreased in 2020” and there were celebrations at this great step forward. And who was the Minister for Equalities when this was happening? Yes – Kemi Badenoch.
This is great example of how the DEI industry is so corrosive of our national well being. We dumb down basic requirements to ensure that people who shouldn’t really get the job, DO get the job. It is such an insult to those graduates capable of decent numerical reasoning. They have clearly the right qualifications but the wrong ethnicity and so they may not actually gain the role when numeral reasoning is removed!
Remember that this madness happened under the Conservative Government at that time and it shows us once again how untrustworthy they are. Yes, it’s the sort of the thing of which Labour might approve, but it was the Conservatives who colluded in this egregious dumbing down to bring about the “right” ethnic outcome.
