I have feared this would be the inevitable outcome of the US-Iran war ever since the so-called ceasefire came into effect on the 7th April. It’s being suggested by the White House that a “deal” with the murderous Mullah regime is within sight. Whilst the precise details are not quite certain the thrust of it is. Basically, the US-Iran deal is a trade-off: Iran would curb or stop nuclear enrichment and accept tougher inspections, while the U.S. would lift sanctions and ease economic pressure.
For all the bellicose threats from President Trump, he is acquiescing to a deal that keeps the tyrannical regime in Tehran in place. There will be no regime change. At best, we’ve swapped out one Ayatollah for a new one, the IRGC stays in place to terrorise the people, and Trump misses his chance to change the world order.
Have a look at these posts from President Trump. I conclude they were hollow words.
The daily executions will continue. The barbaric Islamic regime that captured power in 1979 continues. The ability of Iran to operate surrogate terrorist groups seems undiminished.
Worst of all, the US has been played by the Iranian regime to what can be seen as a draw, at best. For whatever reason, Trump held back and did not go for the jugular and topple the regime whose catchphrase is “Death to America”!
Back in early January, 40,000+ Iranians were slaughtered in the streets as the protested the regime. They were unarmed, the regime wasn’t. President Trump is well aware of this horror and if you read his “Help is on the Way” message, it’s hard not to see this moment as a betrayal.
Winston Churchill, whose bust graces the Oval Office, understood that you cannot appease evil, you must defeat it. By contrast, President Trump has negotiated a deal with it that superficially looks atrocious. Once we get the full details, I will have more to say.
